Edge of the grass stalk. This is another of the dragonfly species I ran into at the rookery. At first I wondered why there are so many dragonflies there when there was no water once the summer rain dried up any little rain pools. Then it dawned. There are many flies there at the rookery and the dragonflies eat flies. And I suspect many little fledgling birds eat the dragonflies. Circle of life.
