C is for Cottages, Cars, Cliffs and Counsellor’s Strand
Counsellor’s Strand is named after a local barrister Counsellor Henry Alcock who lived between the late 19th and early 29th century in Nymph Hall on the hill behind the strand. (I was unable to find any further information on either Henry Alcock of Nymph Hall)
The cliffs consist of fine-grained sandstones and pebbly looking conglomerates dating back to the Devonian geological area over 417 million years ago.
Information taken from sign posted at Counsellor’s Strand in Dunmore East, Waterford, Ireland
