The Science Barge
The Science Barge is a completely sustainable Urban Farm used for educating schoolchildren in the greater New York area as well as the general public. It is moored in Yonkers and is run by Groundwork Hudson Valley and was built by NY Sun Works. It is powered by solar power and wind turbines and has a 1,200 gallon cistern for collecting rainwater as well as a reverse osmosis water filter for recycling water from the Hudson River.
