Jean Piaget smoking pipe (b. Aug. 9, 1896 - d. Sept. 17, 1980). Piaget was a Swiss psychologist who was the first to make a methodical study of the four stages of mental growth in children. He is considered by many to have been a major figure in developmental psychology.
