A Matter of Contrast [Explored]
Sometimes I snap a picture of a high contrast scene just to see what the outcome will be - curiosity about how the sensor or film (as is the case here) will handle it. The sun was blazing this day and I turned this corner in Georgetown, TX to find this scene with a huge dynamic range. Deep shadows, shade, dappled light through a tree, and direct sunlight on a sidewalk. I'm also attracted to interesting stairs so I snapped this shot with my Leica IIIF and Acros 100 film. The film handled this well with only a hint of blown highlights and plenty of shadow detail.
