I don't typically point my camera towards the sun at either sunrise or sunset. I prefer to have the sun behind me, or coming in diagonally over one of my shoulders. This allows for the horizontal light cast by the sun, low on the horizon, to light up scenes with vivd hues that last only minutes. When this shot presented itself, though, I couldn't resist shooting at the sun, and love the result. The early-morning fog low on the ground completes the scene.
