Our mighty Diahatsu 2.4Ltr diesel 4x4 (real 4x4 with FWH and solid axles front & rear) crossing Nagoa River just downstream of the old weir at Emerald, Qld. Thanks desk jockeys, all this is fenced off.
Could have done with a hydraulic lift arm for this part of the operation as ARB quality winch bar is quite heavy even before the very solid and heavy Ramsey professional rated winch is fitted. Got there ok but just had to grind out a slot for the heavy positive cable. Toushed up the bare metal with a little black paint. Perfect! Our one ton Diahatsu tray parked behind. It has served us well so far for well over 20 years including pulling a heavy loaded two ton rated tandem box trailer. Still going strong, after 15 years we fitted a Toyota 18R gasoline engine.
Fan fare please ! As author hands over the key for our mighty 1980 Diahatsu F-55 4x4 'Hard Roader, not Soft Roader. (real 4x4 with proper springs and FWH's) His dad will take it out to the family farm. Will be young guy's project to jazz it up a little.
