'Sea Nymph' (ceramic, 1938) surrounded by a surf or at least a surfeit of magnolia petals.
The UM's website for public art on the campus says of this piece
"Designed by Gerald Mast and executed by Clivia Morrison (formerly Calder) as part of the Federal Arts Program of the WPA. The materials were paid for by the Michigan League as sponsors of this WPA project. Sponsors of pieces became their owners when the Federal Arts Program was closed in 1940."

The secondary wall plaque, below the title plaque, describes the 1988 restoration of the fountain. It stands against the outer (east) wall of the Courtyard Garden of the Michigan League.
