"And the fire in the air, it felt frozen"

DP085-2013. Posted March 26; processed ditto.

I know that Dylan meant something very different in 'North Country Blues" by his 'fire in the air', but this line out of context seemed apt for the sight that met my eyes one morning recently. Picture a sunny wintery morning. Picture the air filled with tiny, tiny crystals of ice or snow, so tiny they were more floating than falling, and each one sparkling like a diamond in the light, flashing rainbow colors. Thus, frozen 'fire in the air'.

Of course no photo to really capture the sight as it was processed by my eyes and brain, but at least this one illustrates the myriad crystals that filled the air, and the fact that the sun was shining at the time. I can see it in my minds eye, and it was magical.
