14.02.15 - There Goes the Neighboughood!
Willis and I got a big surprise on our late afternoon walk yesterday, someone has chopped the trees down on one of favourite local footpaths. This used to be a beautiful narrow winding path down the hill through the edge of a small wood. There is a parallel path along the field edge just behind the hedge on the left, but we always preferred the walk through the woods as there are so few trees around here. Lincolnshire is one of the most intensely farmed areas in the whole of Europe, so we try to make the most of even the smallest bit of woodland. A friend suggested that they chopped the trees down because they were encroaching on the electricity cables on the left, which could be true, but they've cut a lot of trees down just for that I think. Anyway, maybe we'll never know, maybe the farmer just wanted some logs, the trees looked healthy enough anyway.? I've used a slight touch of "glamour glow" filter in color efex pro to lift what was a very dull image taken a few minutes after sunset on day of heavy cloud.
