Sharkey's Beach NSW
This is a beautiful full colour photograph is presented by Josephine Caruana of Jo.C.Photography.
Sharky's beach is reasonably lengthy but is not a patrolled beach it has plenty of parking space and is fringed by very fine rock platforms for investigating rock pools. Just up from Sharky’s Beach is Coledale which is patrolled and also has a camp site and other facilities.
Whales can be seen off the shore at Coledale from May (sometime not until June), as they head north for warmer waters. They can sometimes be seen again around August to October, as they return with young calves to the Southern Ocean. Humpback and southern right whales are the most common species.
