Jacob Belcher, a Gloucester High School senior who intends to enter the U.S. Coast Guard next year, teaches second-graders Natasha DePaula, right, and Jakob Hamm the correct way to fold the U.S. flag as their classmate Nathan Messier looks on Thursday in Mary Ann Shatford's class at West Parish School in Gloucester. Belcher was one of a group of GHS students who gave inspirational talks in West Parish classrooms over a two-day period this week as part of the Moose International Youth Awareness program. In addition to the flag-folding lesson, Belcher talked about the meaning Pledge of Allegiance and encouraged the second graders to draw pictures expressing how they feel about America. Belcher has regularly raised and lowered the flag outside the high school every morning and afternoon during his years there.
