Car strikes house in Shirley Wednesday, December 31, 2014. At approx. 6:00 p.m. authorities responded to reports of a two car accident at the intersection of Victory Ave. and Auburn Ave. and upon arrival, officers from the SCPD 7th Pct. and members of the Brookhaven F. D. found a two car accident where one of the cars, a Toyota Camry, had also crashed into a residence on Auburn Ave. and found the Toyota's two occupants lying on the ground. The occupant of the other vehicle, a four-door Honda SUV, was pinned in her vehicle and had to be cut out of her car by officers from SCPD's elite Emergency Services Unit using their hydraulic "Jaws of Life" Hurst Tools. All three injured were taken to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries.
