Duck flapping its wings
Barrow's Goldeneye: Bucephala islandica is a dabbling duck. The Barrow's has a crescent white mark on his cheek. The Common Goldeneye has a more blocky or round mark on his cheek. Their wings whistle when they take off.

I was out-n-about practicing my technique for capturing Birds In Flight (BIF). This Snowy Egret was kind enough to do a slow fly-by so that I could capture a picture. I shot this image using a 70-200 lens maxed out at the long end. And I still feel that I needed more reach to really capture a fantastic BIF image. This image is cropped significantly, and the pixelation artifacts definitely can be seen.

I was out-n-about recently practicing my technique for photographing birds in flight (BIF). I captured this image of a Snowy Egret flying low across a lake.
