Goodbye Santa Cruz! After checking out of the Sunset Inn, we wanted to have a tasty meal before heading back to Texas. While we waited for West End to open, Emily and I had some coffee at Kelly’s Bakery and did a little shopping at the stores right around there. Lunch at West End (the ham and cheese) was very nice, but the dessert? Guys. Seriously. So good.
If you ever end up at this place, this treat is listed as Dark Chocolate Pot de Creme. It’s rich and delicious, but here’s what makes it kick: The inner lining of that jar is coated with local sea salt, so when you get a spoonful you can scrape up as much or as little as you want. It’s so freakin’ good.
The flight was normal. I basically played Solitaire for three hours. David Heflin was nice enough to pick us up at the airport and take us home. Thanks David! He’s way more fun than an Uber (and cheaper too!). Tomorrow, it’s back to work!
