Colors of Science
Opened April 1, 1963 and named after the aviation pioneer, James Smith McDonnell, the McDonnell Planetarium is part of the Saint Louis Science Center located in Forest Park.
The hyperboloid-shaped building, designed by Gyo Obata of Hellmuth, Obata and Kassabaum, is shown here being illuminated by a series of rotating color schemes with each color lasting around 30 seconds.
This is a 76 MP composite that will produce an image of 24 x 36 inches (60 x 91 cm) when printed at 100%
