Heron Moon Greeting Card

A blank option of the evocative and lovely heron moon card with full moon at the nesting colony. In hopes that the magic of the scene will inspire a wonderful hand-written note to a friend.
Heron Moon - Greeting Card with etheree by Linda Leinen!

The elegant heron card is graced by the delicate, evocative Etheree written by Linda Leinen. I had already worked with Linda concerning this poem and a card, when one day I stayed later than usual taking pictures of nesting herons. When the heron flew back to roost my eye followed it until it landed with a full moon in perfect view. All I could think of was Linda's poem with the herons in the night beneath a moon with branches scraping the clouded sky. It was meant to be!! She's allowed me to marry together the image and the words for a truly perfect concept & card!

The basic Etheree is a special syllabic poetry form wherein the first line has one syllable, the second has two, increasing by one until you have 10 lines of poetry consisting of 55 syllables. It is a form which lends itself well to a gathering of emotion or meaning as each line builds into the next.

The form is named for Etheree Taylor Armstrong, an Arkansas poet who died in 1994.

Garden of the Gods Moon. I was in Colorado Springs and drove up for sunrise photos at the Garden of the Gods. The full moon was setting at the time of the sunrise. Getting the shot between the rocks took a lot of moving around and a lot of photos. Amazing how quickly the moon moves.
