Emily and I broke off for much of the day today so we could see Shelby and Spenser. We got up early enough to spend some time at the Pike Place Market, where we grabbed a bite at Piroshky, Piroshky. We shopped around and looked at flowers, got coffee at Ghost Alley, and looked with disgust at the gum wall once again. Then, it was off to the Seattle Art Museum!
Shelby and Spenser showed up just in time for us to finish our coffee. The gallery was great! They had a thing called Graphic Masters, with art from dudes like Dürer, Rembrandt, Hogarth, Goya, Picasso, and R. Crumb. This shot was in the R. Crumb section. Apparently this dude thought it’d be cool to illustrate the entire book of Genesis as a graphic novel. That’s a lot of illustrating. Also, it really helped make it clear just how ridiculous the book of Genesis is. I love how Adam and Eve, the first humans ever, have kids who then go off and find wives somewhere. Uh, what?
Shelby and Spenser then took us to the Seattle Public Library, which is an architectural sex machine. We walked all through that place, checking out the crazy angles and that super weird red floor. Soon after we made it through there, it was time to part ways. We said our goodbyes and then tried to track down the Holts. We found them near Sub Pop Records, or at least where they‘d hoped to find a storefront. They were hanging with DudeMeagan, Meagan Dodge. She just moved to Seattle in the last year or so.
In the evening we all had seafood dinner by the water. Kitty and Meagan broke off while the rest of us hiked to Kerry Park. Dude, that walk is nuts. Just take an Uber. The view was spectacular though. I got several photos of it, but I figured I should stick with the stuff that mattered more today. Tomorrow, we cruise!
