The Broken Desk

I came across this worn out, broken down desk as I was meandering through the Old National Archives. Someone had left a key on it, to be found by a future world.
The Book Slide

What a strange slide, don't you think? It was made for books during WWII, in case they would have to be moved to safety outside Stockholm. One of many interesting things about the Old National Archives.
Room of Shadows

The morning sun was coming in through the windows, casting long shadows in its way. This is one of the rooms inside the currently empty Old National Archives in Stockholm.
Old National Archives II

Another shot of the main entrance. The slim cast iron columns look almost threatening here.
Old National Archives

This building was designed by Axel F. Nyström and completed in 1890. It has only three stories, but was the tallest building in Stockholm at the time.

I had tried to gain access to the space before, but without much luck. Now I was invited here for a job meeting. Was I going to be a little bit audacious, and ask if I could take some photos of the interior? Well, of course! As you can see, it worked out perfectly.
