For the Formula 1 race in Hockenheim, I was staying in the next city over in Mannheim. Not more than 12 miles to the east lay the beautiful town of Heidelberg. Getting in a day prior to when the race would start, I ventured over to explore the town and its famous Heidelberg Castle. The morning started off a little rainy, but as I got off the train, it stopped but left some puffy white and gray clouds in the sky. After grabbing a quick bite to eat of a delicious German bratwurst with beer, I made my way up to the castle. Without a car, it is quite a climb to get up to the entrance. I spent a good amount of time exploring the castle but before heading back down, I made my way over to an outlook in its gardens that gives you a view of the whole castle, city, river, bridges and beyond. You can see some scaffolding on the castle, the famous Old Bridge and the Neckar River. And I couldn't have asked for better lighting, with a combination of streaky and puff clouds dotting the sky.
