500px Photo ID: 120574251 - Back in June I had the privilege of getting access to the Mihrab of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi. It's an area that's usually off limits to photographers and tourists alike. Thanks to legend Beno Saradzic, we got the media passes to get this awesome point of view. On top of that, I also managed to meet the CEO and co-founder of 500px; Evgeny Tchebotarev, who stopped by Abu Dhabi for a few hours to check things out!
The Mihrab is an ornamental indentation in the wall of mosques ,which marks the qiblah (direction of Mecca) . All vary in size and colour, and are usually shaped like doorways and decorated with tiles and calligraphy to make it stand out. For the final product, five images were blended together using the "Merge to 32bit HDR" plugin in Lightroom CC, and the final touch ups done in Nik Color Efex Pro 4.
