Cullible Beaucannon ran the construction crews for the Transeasonal Railroad in the late 1800s. He thought the best route for the railroad was a straight line through these hills. Why waste time and energy zigzagging through the valleys? Well, it turned out in order to accomplish that feat, it would take 65 bridges in ten miles. A different route was found which, coincidentally, was about a thousand miles east of this location. Apparently, Beaucannon was running the wrong crew for the wrong railroad in the wrong location. Script mixup.
