Featured: Autumn idyll on the river
Featured October 27
Featuring swans and gulls gathering. The swans are mute swans. I noticed that most of the mute swans on the river right now have very pale orange beaks. I don't know whether that's a seasonal thing or not.
The view is to the west (upstream). The roadbed of the Huron Parkway bridge really does slant downhill, left to right (south to north). The second bridge in the background is the one lane Gallup Park vehicle bridge over the river. The park occupies narrow strips on both sides of the river, as well as a number of small islands in the river.
If you look carefully, you'll see a row of half a dozen or more gulls perched on a partially submerged tree limb/trunk in the background.
