The magnificent face of El Capitan shines in the spotlight with the light of a setting sun in this view from Tunnel View in Yosemite National Park. The 3,000 foot granite formation is a favorite rock climbing and even base jumping challenge. I most know El Capitan for it’s dominating presence at the gates of the Yosemite Valley with its sheer granite beauty. Here it is in the spotlight while its other Yosemite sibling Half Dome awaits its turn in the light. Incoming stormy weather brought dense clouds above while a hole remained to the west allowing the late Sun to shine through.
