Soulful Patriarch

The day a few of his offspring did not return to the pack, this alpha male spent the morning hours out in the valley alone.
A wolf crosses my path at Yellowstone National Park.
"Catch your sister by the tail!"

These Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes) kits hare having a ball, possibly at the expense of mom's tolerance! In this instance, the sibling has caught the tail of the other sibling and shows off his prize when mom isn't looking!
Captured in Yellowstone National Park, May 2013. Unfortunately for the fox, a few days after this image was taken, the kits were killed by a badger who invaded the den, despite the mother's desperate attempts to fend off the tenacious badger.
