3-6-13 This is an HDR of the same scene as my last long exposure.

In answer to questions on the filters I se for long exposures, I use a 10 stop Lee Big stopper and a 3 ND Lee filter for a total of 13 stops.
3-2-13 In the Skagit Valley on Fir Island, Washington. Another one whet I was able to shoot this afternoon and PST on the same day. It makes me happy when tht works out.

12-26-12 Storm Over the Columbia. This is the tidal flats of Fort Stevens State Park in Hammond, Oregon. I have been frequenting this area to see the Snowy Owls. On Christmas Eve, I saw 3 and photographed them, nothing special since they were so far away. We went again today and saw two owls. The weather was very stormy and this was the wonderful lighting in between squalls. This is a 5 stop HDR. I was trying to use my 10 stop ND. However, when the rain started coming down, I got too many water spots on the filter. More than would be practical to clean up since for the long exposure, I was shooting at f16.
