Despite an onslaught of nasty rain, we got some tasty b-roll footage of Sofi’s bike this morning for a feature I’m working on. The main thing I learned today is that, if you drive faster than 30mph in a Tesla with the trunk open, and you’re hanging out of the back of it, the wind will push the door down on you.
After the shoot we went to a place called Norma’s Cafe, which basically brings you food in a wheelbarrow. I had what they called an open-faced roast beef sandwich. The meat doesn’t touch the bread though, because there’s a barrier of mashed potatoes and gravy in between. That sounds like a lot to swallow, but luckily they brought me corn and mac n cheese to keep me level. Then they found out it was my birthday recently, so I now have a free pie to deal with. Needless to say, I’m shocked I made it out of that place still conscious.
Tonight was our Oscar party, for which Emily rigorously put together an amazing smorgasbord film- and non-film-related foods. Unfortunately the severe weather, which has now turned into scary ice, prevented several of our guests from coming tonight. Now there is a TON of leftover food. Luckily, when I’m iced in tomorrow I won’t have to eat any of our pets.
