The Blacksmith
08 December 2012
Lincoln, Rhode Island
Yesterday's photo showed the exterior of Hannaway's Blacksmith Shop on Great Road in Lincoln. I returned this morning since they are open Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 AM to Noon. There were three blacksmiths working the trade that dates back to the Chalcolithic Era (sometimes called the Copper Age.) The earliest known securely dated smelting of copper dates back 7000 years, but copper tools (primarily axes) have been dated back 7500 years. Smelting and forging have been an integral part of society ever since.
Post processing today started with a detail light filter in Topaz Adjust. I then adjusted the adaptive exposure, contrast, protect highlights, and adaptive saturation sliders. No other adjustments were made in PSE.
