Wild White Rhinocerous Microchipping (Ceratotherium simum) horn drilling
While sedated this rhino was having its horn drilled allowing the implant of microchips into the horn to aid in the tracking of rhino horn in case of poaching. DNA is collected from the dirlling and collected in the container which is then added to the RHODIS database for that rhino. Due this rhino previously having its horn drilled, it was needed to drill a second hole.
