Today was our last full day in Santa Cruz, and I spent the bulk of it hanging out at the Octopus office editing pictures. Emily was in a meeting with the higher-ups and her client for most of the day, but I got to spend some time with the rest of the crew, which was nice. For a little while they blasted the Phantom of the Opera score, making me realize that I haven’t actually seen or heard that entire show before. I put in a request for Ratatouille next, which they obliged. Seems like a good enough crew to me!
After work we wandered around downtown and did some shopping, which of course included more ice cream from the Penny Ice Creamery. On the agency’s recommendation, we had dinner at a “Mexican” restaurant called the Palomar. Apparently they aren’t much into cheese there, because neither my fajitas nor Emily’s ENCHILADAS had cheese on them. The food also cost about three times what we would spend on WAY better tex-mex back home. Less learned, I guess.
Before our little excursion to the downtown, I made sure to get a shot of Emily next to our hotel’s lap pool. I assume it’s for tiny Olympians
