Anna's Hummingbird - at our backyard feeder. 5-19-13
We call our back courtyard the hummingbird highway. These beautiful little creatures flit from one yard to another chattering & moving at the speed of light! I have made numerous attempts to capture one at our feeder and finally today I met with success!
I actually hid under our grapefruit tree with tripod and a cloth over my head and the camera. It was pretty shady so I put on the fill flash but it actually had to flash through the cloth. The noise of the camera and flash caused the little bird to stop and look around - giving me an opportunity to catch a crisp photo.
