Two Blue Jay's Club - Cyanocitta cristata
One of the oldest and nerdiest debates a nature lover could have would be Cardinal Vs. Blue Jay. You don’t see either very often, or at least I don’t. Since I like the color blue more I’m going with Blue Jays. It seems there is a tie in pop-culture regarding these elegant birds as there are two baseball teams named after each bird. This debate will never end!
When I was out walking for fun in Ohio, I spotted not one but two of them together in a tree. The surprise through me off and I quickly took this photograph, so please forgive the quality as I was using a cheap point and shoot. But to see two of them was a nice reward for leaving the confines of my house. It makes me wonder how to tell the difference between a male and female Blue Jay? And also, what sub-species this might be?
