My word for 2018 is “Observe.” So many people go through life without truly seeing things around them. If they would take the time to pause and really look, they would see wonderous shapes , colours, and movement. Everyone is busy and life hurries by in a blur. So this year I am going to make a conserted effort to pause and look around me, to observe the small things that make up the whole picture.
My subject this week is an old John Deere tractor that sits behind our local Diner. It is weathered and rusted, paint peeling, odometer smashed, steering wheel cracked, wires hanging out at crooked angles. I love this old tractor.
This photo was shot with my iPhone SE in the Camera+ app. For several weeks last year I was without my Olympus camera and resorted to using my iPhone. I took an online iPhone camera seminar and learned how to use the iPhone camera; a whole new world.
I edited in photoshop using levels, selective colour, smart sharpen and the clone tool.
I am looking forward to being with old colleagues and meeting the new members.
