Tuesday, January 1, 2013 "2013" Theme "We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day. ~ Edith Lovejoy Pierce I have been decorating our kitchen table every month since 2009. I love decorating and home decor! This year, I solicited the help of my SmugMug friends for color combinations for our New Year's (2013) table setting. And the story goes like this...... For Judy (aka fotoeffects).......... Last month, Judy (aka fotoeffects) suggested red, chartreuse, and hot pink accents for our December Christmas table setting. On the other hand, Karen (aka Kjakes1) suggested red and gold. Although I finally decided upon purple, lime green, silver, and black - colors suggested by fellow SmugMugger Nelli and one of my colleagues, I still created a table setting in Karen's suggested color scheme and felt up to the challenge of creating one in Judy's suggested color scheme, too. For this one, I tried to create a different arrangement of the ornaments for each plate. Monday, December 17, 2012 "MINI FRAGRANCE TRAY" "People will talk about you when they envy you and the life you lead. Let them. You affected their life. Don’t let them affect yours." ~ Anonymous First of all, I am genuinely appreciative of your overwhelmingly kind comments on my "Ornamental Centerpiece" photo yesterday. I never take for granted that you take the time to peruse and comment on my photos. Next, this still-life photo came about as a result of me placing the mini fragrance tray on a glass table to photograph it. After I took the photo, I noticed the bowl of glitering and sparkling Christmas centerpiece ornaments sitting in a tray on the glass table. Do you recognize it as my post from yesterday? Also, The Mini Fragrance Tray's packaging included the turquoise ceramic bottle, expresso finish wood tray, bamboo rain fragrant oil, natural reeds incense sticks, two glass votive candle holders, and two tealight candles. Sunday, December 16, 2012 "ORNAMENTAL CENTERPIECE" "Enthusiasm is excitement with inspiration, motivation, and a pinch of creativity." ~ Bo Bennett I will catch up on posting comments later. Another one of my creations.........I love decorating and "Tis the season for ornamental centerpieces. Bright, shiny ornaments are always eye-catching on a table. I don’t know about you, but I think it is so much more fun to make things myself rather than buying them; so, by mixing various shapes and colors - both matte and shiny - I created a cheap but amazingly easy-to-make, festively colorful centerpiece. 9 days until Christmas...........
