Today I was at CSUCI (California State University Channel Islands, pronounced by many as see-sushi) for a conference. Much of the conference took place in this room, called the Grand Salon, which had these neat fans and cool arches. It's a beautiful campus, and I'm happy it didn't burn down a couple weeks ago with the fire - it got really, really, close.

These two buildings are near the Trader Joe's where we got some food today. The metal panels on the left building were what caught my eye, but I ended up just using it to fill half the frame (yes, it's lined up perfectly in the middle) with a grainy reflection of the building on the right.

I was in Venice today to get a lovely and overdue haircut, and this sign was in a nearby parking lot. The sun was perfectly highlighting the cracked surface.

Not as desperation-y as yesterday, but I'm still pretty sick. I took this photo out on a walk around the block. It's a cycad plant, which looks like a little palm tree. But it's not a palm tree. It's a cycad.
