An Empty Tree by a Field. In Omi Imazu, Shiga Prefecture.
Standing out from the Crowd. In Japan there's a saying "the nail that stands up gets hammered down" so generally people don't like to be too different from others. However there are always a exceptions like the people who build the house on the right! In Omi-Imazu, Shiga Prefecture.
Satoyama. Satoyama means countryside and mountains, Omi Imazu in Shiga Prefecture is a great place to see it. There's also an excellent Photo Book with the same name with heaps of beautiful photos of various places around Shiga Prefecture taken by Mitsuhiko Imamori which is the most inspirational photo book I own.
