At home in the Evening Light

Got to visit family at home last week. Not a lot of trawlers in as it is the high fishing season. Taken late in the evening.

Western Chieftain is 45 metres in length, weights 633 gross tons and has engine power of 2400. Its neighbour Girl Stephanie is the same length and weight but the engine is only 1670. Part of the pelagic fishing fleet.

Homesick

Was missing Donegal a lot yesterday so I was browsing through my archives and processed this photo of some of the small trawlers in my home town of Killybegs. The building on the left is the boatyard where my Dad used to work.

Thank you for all the views and comments on my photos last week. I appreciate the time and support.

Enjoying the View

Phill took this shot of my 14 year old nephew and I when we made it home to Killybegs in September.

The response to the Think Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness was amazing! Personally I was veyr moved by all the entries. A huge thanks to Tina http://sisterhoodofthebras.smugmug.com/ for organizing the challenge.

Hard Work

Donegal are All Ireland Football Champions! As I currently live in the diagonal opposite side of the country I am not up there to get celebratory shots so posting this one from our visit home two weeks ago as it has the Donegal flag flying proudly.

Thanks to everyone for the very warm welcome back last Monday and for all the comments and stars all week. Every one very much appreciated.
