Mono Lake Tufa Hunt

This is the result when you forget to take your cable release with you while prowling Mono Lake near Lee Vining, California. +Shari Seibold and I only had the one night opportunity and I normally carry my backpack with everything. I forgot the backpack on this particular evening. I think we were so tired from the day adventures, we weren't thinking clearly. Or, we were so surprised to see a full parking lot after dark that we were freaked out. There were a ton of folks walking the shores, camera in hand. What it all means, of course, is that we will have to make another trip in the future.

Tufa Sunset

The Tufas are preparing to come out and play. They are quite nocturnal and love basking in moonlight and starlight. You can hear the giggles as they come alive. Okay, probably not giggling; that was +Shari Seibold. A nervous giggle like, "are there mountain lions out here?" kinda giggle. Mono Lake located near Lee Vining in Mono County, California.
