One of the shots I was looking for when I visited the Big Island of Hawaii was of the stars and the Milky Way. I was lucky enough to get the opportunity while on a hike to see the lava flow. At around 4:30 am the moon had finally set and you could see every star in the sky. I setup with a wide lens, cranked up the ISO and opened up the aperture… Luck hit me again as the Milky Way was just above the light from the lava pouring into the ocean. I got the shot I was looking for and was fortunate enough to get the lava in the foreground! This is one of my favorite shots from the trip!
If you ever go to the Big Island please look up http://www.extremeexposure.com and take a tour with Bruce and Tom. They are amazing photographers that know the land, keep you safe, and allow you to get the images you are looking to capture. One of the BEST experiences of my life!!!
