Happy hump day!!! The light of the weekend is ahead.
I've driven by this place for decades since I've lived her in Des Moines WA. I pass by mostly on the way to work. I've seen it go from a house were someone used to live, to a home that was abandoned, taken over by decay and english ivy. Just recently I've noticed someone has been cutting down dead trees and clearing away all the ivy that was over taking it. They've been working on a driveway from the road down to the house hauling in truck loads of fill dirt and gravel. Today I decided I should drive down there and get a picture of my old familiar landmark before the bulldoze it down. I'm hopeful that they will fix it up. Prime view property with a clear vista of Mt Rainier from the now decaying back porch. I'm just happy to have captured a place that must hold many memories of the people that once inhabited it.
Nothing more beautiful than the setting sun on a work week and the wings of the weekend bird in full view.
For all you Photomatix HDR enthusiasts out there, Photomatix has a new upgrade to download that just rocks in my opinion. Downloaded and installed it tonight and am now wanting to go back and reprocess my HDR's. This is one from the past that I was really impressed with the new results. And for free. The price is right. Here comes Monday! Have a fantastic week ahead!
Made it down to the beach for the sunset. This was taken on the day the world was supposed to come to an end according to some folks. Couldn't have been a more beautiful December afternoon with the sun low on the horizon and the Olympic Mt range covered in snow. Enjoy the holiday season. Merry Christmas!
Chilly cold at the Des Moines Washington marina. Touch of white on the boats and the docks. Decided to shoot with my nifty fifty @ f/20 for the star effects. Cheapest and smallest lens, go figure. Talk about bang for the buck in certain situations. Feel sorry for the poor soul in the sail boat with the string of lights that went out "way up there". Murphy's Law. Didn't put up lights this year just to piss Murphy off. Wisdome comes with age. :)
