"Powerful East" © Luke Zeme 2013. Limited Edition Print, series of 25 This is the most eastern point of Australia, Cape Byron. I had camped the night before near the Cape Byron State Conservation Park, where there is a large area of rainforest being protected. It was shot just towards the end of summer and the surfers were already out riding the waves including a wave just in the orange section of the water. My primary fasination with this piece is the likelyhood someone many years ago placed their bare feet on this rock and gave root to a natural fungus process, and although far fetched, it could have been started well over 100 years ago, just no way to really know, but what a journey into the relm of possibilities! "Rust and Rock" Photographer: Robert Chartier Description: Nature once again provides only what decades of time and weather can create, I see a face, others just see a mosiac flow of earthy colors. As it is art, whatever you see personally is exactly as it should be. I have seen collectors hang this piece in all four basic "SQUARE" orientations, and once saw this piece hung as a diamond pattern of FOUR pieces, each piece rotated 90 degrees, and it looked really cool, only wish I had thought of doing that first.
