Pre-war Dutch carriage - Vooroorlogse Nederlandse rijtuig
This gem, stock no. B1607, is a six wheeled coach (or carriage) with veranda that was built for local services at the NCS (Nedelandsche Centraal Spoorweg) central workshops in Utrecht in 1897 and was one of only three of this type designated as BI7. Thsi portrait was taken at Arnhem in early August 1936 and the destination board states 'EDE' in the upright postition and 'ARNHEM' in the inverted postion. Somewhat surprisingly the last of these vehicles survived until June 1947.
