Lock and Dam 14 Sunrise

Epic sunrise before a day of Eagle watching on the Mississippi River @ Lock and Dam 14 in Davenport, Iowa. The Eagles were scattered all over on this day so there weren't many action shots to be had, but witnessing this epic sunrise definitely made it worth the trip for sure!!!
Eagles on the Mississippi 2013 Round 2...

I headed back to the Lock and Dam 14 in Le Clair, Iowa on January 26th, 2013 to photograph arguably one of my favorite photographic subjects, Eagles. I was really hoping that the birds would cooperate, since previous weekend I only saw 3 eagles the whole time. This time, I was definitely not disappointed. It had to of been the the best day I have ever had eagle watching on the Mississippi. There were at least 2 birds in the close trees all day and at one point we had close to 10 at one time. They definitely put on a show for the record number of people that turned out. 2 photo groups passing through and plenty of regulars meant that there was not an open parking space left and people had to hike in from the road. Anyways, it was definitely and amazing day and Im definitely glad I made the trip.
