Today we had brunch at Ol’ South Pancake House, one of Ft. Worth’s many institutions which I have never visited. It wasn’t bad! At some point yesterday I mentioned to my mom that the mattress in Katelyn’s old room was stiff and uncomfortable (yay back problems!), and she decided to take care of it today!
Right after brunch we went to Sam’s to buy a new mattress for that bed. Mom was trying to jump up on and test out this particular mattress, but she didn’t make it up very gracefully. It did end up being comfortable though, so we crammed it into their Tesla and rode home.
This afternoon we took the pups for a walk. Then we hung around the house, playing video games, making dinner and desserts, taking pictures of Arri… You know, normal stuff. Tonight we got to play the “pass the present” game, where people take turns trying frantically to unwrap a many-times-wrapped present while wearing work gloves. We tried a new game too: kind of a Family Feud setup. It’s got some kinks but I think next year it’ll be a blast! It’s been a great Christmas Eve for sure!
