A good sign
I set up bird feeders in my backyard, so I could practice on my bird capturing technique, as well as to test out which camera lens combos would work best at capturing this or that type of birds in flight.
I knew I was mostly going to attract sparrows, which dominate my block and are dull subjects to capture on film. However they are quite flighty and jumpy, which make them good subjects to hone my birds in flight skills on.
I've kept refilling the feeders which the sparrows empty out with stunning speed (where do those tiny little things put it all?) with the hopes that all the noise and growing number of sparrows would induce other more colorful and attractive birds to stop on by. And it's working, as I saw a few cardinals a few weeks ago. And the blue jay in the previous picture just the other day. And today this morning dove.
I've never seen one in my backyard in all the 17 years of owning this house, so I'm taking it as a sign like Noah after the flood, that this dove symbolizes better days head for my bird photo taking.
