What the river says, that is what I say.*
*A line from the poem "Ask Me" by William Stafford. See my Photos with Poems Set: www.flickr.com/photos/dennisdean/sets/72157638271591174/ This surreal rainforest beauty is in the wilderness area along the Salmon River Trail, near Zigzag, Oregon. The river is fed by springs and snow and glacier melt on Mount Hood. It plunges down the mountain into the Columbia River on its way to the Pacific. Moss grows thick in some areas during the Winter rainy season, covering some of the trees. The mossy areas can feel eerie at first, but they are beautiful in their special way. The water is fast-moving, clear, and cold. Please click the pic or press "L" to view it Large on black.
