04.04.13 - Walking the Human

It is an age old question, who walks who?
11.03.13 - Spot the Dog?

Mr Willis is in there somewhere, lost in the snow storm. It was just after sunset, made darker by the squally snow storms blowing through. There was a wind chill of minus 7 degrees, it was pretty wild, which of course I love! The TV news is full of apocalyptic stories of icy roads, with people being told to stay at home, and not to travel unless absolutely necessary. Meanwhile I went for an hours run first thing in the morning, then took the dog out for a long walk in it at dusk! There is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing :)

I've been lacking inspiration and motivation a bit lately and have missed a few days on the Dailies. There was a time when I forced myself to produce pics every day however I felt, but not these days. Hopefully the inspiration will return, I hate feeling like this, we all have these phases I know
03.03.13 - Panning for Dog!

When I'm out with Mr Willis I occasionally try panning shots to capture some idea of how much he hurtles about and rarely stands still. It is much harder to pan with a dog than a racing car because they change direction so unpredictably! This is a case in point. He was running across the shot and suddenly turned and headed towards me. I tried to stay with him but was on auto focus and so the camera was always a little way behind him! I should have been in manual focus, but I'll know better next time, unless I forget again :)
25.02.13 - Ghost Dog..........

A variation of my main Daily today. I was trying to catch Mr Willis waiting at the door, but he kept moving so with a 2.5 second exposure is just a ghost :)
25.02.13 - Dog at the Door!

Yesterday was a bad day, nothing went right, everything and anything that could go wrong did go wrong. The things I expected to go right managed to find some way of going wrong too. Enquiries about work turned into dead ends, and I seemed to keep having to deal with people who have have humour and/or intelligence bypass operations! Oh and the bug that I thought I'd shaken off last week, but which was really just hiding and waiting for the right moment to re-appear, did so with a vengeance. I think it is people that I find most disappointing though. I know some wonderful ones, but unfortunately I keep having to deal with some really ignorant nasty bigoted ones at the moment. Their whole world view is so nasty, full of scapegoats to blame, and their only way of dealing with it seems to be to treat everyone with suspicion, hatred and fear. Sorry to rant like this on my Daily, but that was my day.

I almost didn't take a photo all day, but last night Mr Willis made the perfect subject waiting patiently at the door to be let back in from the garden. This is how I feel a lot of the time these days, waiting patiently on the outside, wondering what on earth is going on :)
07.02.13 - Jealous Eyes

This is for those of you suffering from Mr Willis withdrawal symptoms :)

You probably know that I go for a run across the fields most days, I find road running a bit boring and not very friendly towards my knees at my age, and my view of treadmills isn't printable! But every time I get back Willis smells my running shoes and gives me this look that says "I just wish you'd take me with you". But if I did he'd trip me up before I got to the end of my road! Yes the running shoes are a bit muddy, some days they are a lot worse :)
03.02.13 - Heading up the Hill

This is a simple shot from walking the dog yesterday, Mr Willis posed nicely on the brow as we were headed across the fields for the hill, so I quickly swapped lenses and used the dof to advantage. It was very raw yesterday, and missing the sunshine of Saturday, so I cropped the miserable sky out of the shot
29.01.13 - He's Behind You........

Mr Willis didn't see the giraffe sneaking up on him :)

Thankyou to the wonderful responses to my winter image yesterday, it was a very pleasant surprise to find it at number 1 when I checked in last night. I nearly didn't take any shots again yesterday, it was just one of those days, so I decided to get some portraits of Mr Willis. At first I was frustrated that he lifted his head just as I was taking this, but I quite like how it turned out :)
