Our mighty Diahatsu 2.4Ltr diesel 4x4 (real 4x4 with FWH and solid axles front & rear) crossing Nagoa River just downstream of the old weir at Emerald, Qld. Thanks desk jockeys, all this is fenced off.
Bedford Weir spillway has been raised recently the permanent way, with concrete. I never met anyone who could see the wisdom in fitting an air bag above a spillway to control the tens of thousands of tons of water being held back. We have all seen above ground pools burst on 'Funny Home Videos' . What is to stop this one going the same way?
Brian & Barbara's mate Spanner, enjoys a swim in the flooded Nagoa River at Emerald, Queensland. The warm summer days make this an ideal pastime for so many as long care is taken to avoid the dangerous water current in the deeper water towards the centre of the stream. He seems to inviting us in for a dip with him. How exciting for him, as he normally swims in our in-ground dam on our acreage home site just 16k from town.
