Snow Runoff Pima Canyon 2010. I saw snow in the peaks and hoped I could hike up to it. I did not get close to the snow after an hour hike, but found something better--running water! This popular NW Tucson hike is dry most of the year, and was positively rushing on March 11. In previous centuries natives lived here, as further up the trail you can see impressions they made in the rocks where they ground mesquite pods into flour.

"Medicine Man"
Photographer: Robert Chartier
Description: Discovered at 6,000 ft. elevation in the Laguna Mountains. This piece can be hung in either in "Landscape" orientation or "Portrait" orientation. This 100% natural image is very strong and indeed commands one's attention. I am always in sheer awe of what seams to almost find me in nature. I did not see this image as I was shooting a landscape off a mountain top. As I was reviewing my images, I accidently viewed this in portrait position, I was shocked at what I had discovered and did not first even see in the viewfinder.

Bloom of a pitcher plant, Family Sarraceniaceae.
This is one of several North American native pitcher plants, but I don't know which.

Bloom of a pitcher plant, Family Sarraceniaceae.
The yellow blossoms belong, I think, to the Yellow Pitcher Plant, Sarracenia alata.
