1001 Colors of New York City II
Just about a year ago, I started a series called 1001 Colors of New York City. This series is dedicated to the many colors of the Empire State Building. Not everyone outside of NYC is aware that the building changes colors at the top almost every night. It has been a while since I added to the series. What better time than now?
On the night on 7 August, 2014, the Empire State Building was lit in bright purple to commemorate the Purple Heart Award of the United States Military. This award is among the highest military honors as it is a Presidential award recognizing those killed or wounded while serving with the United States Military.
